Software providers today are endlessly touting the latest AI miracle, new bells and whistles to get your attention and sign you on as a customer. And of course we have our own exciting features like a team of Agentic AI agents and automatch deductions. But at the end of the day, what’s most important is having a solid and secure platform that’s easy to implement and use that these fancy extras can run on top of. After all, you can’t have the sizzle without the steak. So let’s get back to the basics and go over what makes CPGvision the best solution out there for your TPx needs.
What is CPGvision?
CPGvision by PSignite is the only TPx solution that integrates Trade Promotion Management (TPM), Trade Promotion Optimization (TPO), and Revenue Growth Management (RGM) in a single unified platform. CPGvision is trusted by many leading consumer brands, both fast-moving (FMCG) as well as semi-durables and durables. The platform's defining advantage is that it eliminates the disjointed spreadsheets, siloed systems, and disparate emails that plague most CPG trade and deductions teams and replaces them with one operating system that serves as a single source of truth across the organization for forecast, spend, accrual and reconciliation information. Built on a solid foundation of data harmonized at the account/SKIU/week level - this provides a springboard for a host of advanced analytics, primarily in the trade optimization and RGM area.
Trade Promotion Management (TPM)
What is TPM?
Trade Promotion Management is the systematic process of managing a company's trade spend to help drive sales and profitability. TPM helps consumer goods companies have a clear view of their promotional investments, through budgeting, planning, execution, reconciliation, and evaluation. A well-running TPM allows for accurate planning and financial activities while strengthening retailer relationships, and enhancing brand visibility in the marketplace.
Trade promotions can take many forms, including discounts, rebates, bonuses, and other incentives designed to encourage retailers to sell more of a company's products. These promotions can be a significant expense for companies, so it's important to manage them effectively to ensure they're delivering a good return on investment.
Key TPM Features in CPGvision
Budget and Allocation CPGvision gives trade and finance teams a unified view of how trade dollars are allocated across accounts, channels, products, and time periods. Budgets can be structured top-down or built from account-level plans and rolled up, with full visibility into accruals, commitments, and remaining funds at every level of the hierarchy. Fund management is integrated directly into the promotion workflow, so over-spend alerts and approval thresholds are enforced in real time — not discovered after the fact in a finance reconciliation. Unlike platforms that manage budgets in a separate module or require financial teams to operate outside the TPM system, CPGvision keeps planning and finance aligned on a single dataset, eliminating the version-control issues and manual consolidation that plague Excel-dependent or multi-system environments.
Account Planning CPGvision's account planning module gives key account managers a complete view of their business — past performance, baseline projections, active promotions, and P&L — on a single drag-and-drop planning calendar. KAMs can model scenarios, compare ROI across tactics, and collaborate with internal stakeholders directly within the plan record. The platform supports multi-unit planning (cases, pounds, oz) and is flexible enough to handle complex account structures including distributors, brokers, and 3-tier channels. The competitive advantage is depth without complexity: CPGvision delivers the scenario modeling and financial rigor that enterprise teams need, but in a modern, intuitive UI that drives adoption at the field level — where many legacy platforms fall short because salespeople find them too cumbersome to use year-round.
Volume, Sales & Spend Forecasting CPGvision's TPM redefines planning and forecasting in the CPG industry. At its heart is the use of advanced analytics and artificial intelligence, accurately predicting base and uplift factors. CPGvision relies on data science for precise predictions, moving away from the slower, error-prone method of manual input by sales staff. Unlike competitors, CPGvision does not require the purchase of the TPO module to integrate AI-driven forecasts into TPM. CPGvision forecasts both non-promoted and promoted volumes, giving sales teams a comprehensive view of expected sales. The system uses historical sales data, market trends, and consumer behaviors. Unlike many competitors who only model based on syndicated POS data, CPGvision's models are not source-constrained. The platform can incorporate macroeconomic data, omnichannel data, and any other source that is key to understanding business drivers.
Deductions & Settlements CPGvision makes it easier for organizations to reduce deduction aging and improve validation rates. The solution incorporates auto-settlements functionality to help AR teams improve productivity. AI automatch significantly reduces the manual labor involved in matching deductions to promotions, CPGvision has been recognized as POI Best-in-Class for Deductions (2025).
Accruals and Financial Reporting CPGvision generates accruals automatically as promotions are planned, calculating liability by SKU and week based on rate-based, lump-sum, or volume-driven accrual methods — all configurable by spend type. Finance teams get a real-time view of accrued trade liability, commitment versus actual spend, and post-event reconciliation between what was accrued and what was ultimately claimed. This feeds directly into a financial reporting layer built on Salesforce CRM Analytics (Tableau-based), which delivers spend analysis, P&L, accrual dashboards, and ROI reporting across accounts, products, and time periods — accessible to trade, finance, and HQ leadership without requiring a separate BI tool or SAP transaction
Annual Operating Planning (AOP) CPGvision supports full top-down and bottom-up annual operating planning, enabling teams to combine their plans, analyze and close gaps for one source of truth on the forecast. AOP connects directly to the promotional calendar so that plans are always grounded in live account-level data.
Managing Complex Distributor Relationships CPGvision helps manage complex distributor relationships, trade arrangements, and reconciliations. The platform handles multi-tier distribution structures, enabling brands that sell through brokers and distributors to give those partners real-time visibility into budgets, estimated spend, and results.
Insights & Analytics - A powerful Insights suite, built on best-practice, is wrapped around all of this functionality, providing persona-based reporting for account managers, deduction teams, sales finance, forecasters and executives.
Trade Promotion Optimization (TPO)
What is TPO?
Trade Promotion Optimization utilizes historical data and AI to help companies make more profitable decisions about how to spend their trade dollars. CPGvision's TPO uses constraint-based, AI-powered what-if scenario modeling to help teams build better plans faster. Users can instantly see the projected impact of changes on volume, revenue, and profit, enabling them to allocate trade dollars to the activities most likely to generate profitable, incremental returns. It is generative and constraint-based with powerful scenario planning capabilities - allowing side by side plan comparisons and war-gaming.
ROI Evaluation Businesses can measure the effectiveness of trade promotions through KPIs including sales lift, incremental sales, event spend as a percentage of revenue, cost per incremental dollar (CID), and ROI. CPGvision makes this evaluation continuous and embedded in the planning process rather than a post-event exercise. And now prescriptive optimization indicates which promotion and which specific assortment of choices will generate the highest ROI. ROI evaluation is used both in TPM and TPO in CPGvision. Users get immediate projections as they plan promotions as well as overall plan ROIs in scenario planning.
Revenue Growth Management (RGM)
What is RGM?
Revenue Growth Management is the broadest layer of the platform, helping CPG companies balance profit and growth by optimizing pricing, promotions, and go-to-market strategies holistically.
Go-to-Market Strategy CPGvision's RGM module helps brands make strategic decisions about which products to sell, through which channels, at what price points, and with what promotional support.
Price Optimization The platform enables teams to model the revenue and margin impact of pricing changes across channels and customers, incorporating competitive data, elasticity modeling, and consumer behavior to find the optimal price point at each level of the market.
Forecasting RGM-level forecasting connects shipment and consumption forecasts to broader revenue plans. Accurate forecasting allows businesses to be flexible and respond promptly to new trends and consumer preferences, and CPGvision's multi-model AI approach delivers this across the full planning horizon.
Insights RGM insights in CPGvision allow leadership to evaluate performance across the entire revenue growth framework, giving executive teams a full picture of where revenue growth is being created or destroyed.
5 Keys to Client Success at CPGvision
Deploying a trade promotion or revenue growth management platform is only the beginning. We’ve worked with enough clients to know the five factors that determine whether a client sees transformational results or just another software implementation.
1. Data
Every successful CPGvision deployment starts with clean, connected data. Most CPG companies arrive with promotional history spread across ERPs, syndicated data providers, retailer and distributor portals, spreadsheets, and legacy systems. CPGvision's implementation process integrates these sources into a single view of trade performance, mapping account hierarchies, product hierarchies, and historical promotional data into a consistent structure that the platform's AI models can learn from. Without this foundation, forecasts are unreliable and ROI calculations are inaccurate.
2. One Platform
Many CPG companies stitch together separate, often acquired through acquisition, systems for TPM, TPO, analytics, and financial planning, resulting in data latency, reconciliation problems, and teams that stop trusting the numbers. CPGvision delivers TPM, TPO, and RGM in a single environment built on the Salesforce platform (no, you do not need to be a Salesforce user to employ CPGvision). A change to a promotional plan flows immediately through to financial forecasts, RGM scenarios, and demand planning outputs with no manual syncing or version conflicts.
The right TPM solution should have the option for customers to add on advanced TPO and RGM capabilities as organizational needs and readiness require. CPGvision is designed exactly this way: teams can start with TPM and expand into TPO and RGM without migrating to a new system.
3. Adoption and KPI Tracking
A platform is only as valuable as the people using it. CPGvision establishes baseline metrics before go-live and monitors them continuously afterward, tracking improvements in forecast accuracy, deduction aging, planning cycle time, and trade ROI. When adoption lags, the Customer Success team intervenes proactively. When KPIs improve, clients can quantify the value of their investment.
4. Change Management
Technology alone does not change behavior. CPGvision runs a co-developed change management process beginning during blueprinting, where its team documents current-state processes and designs the future state alongside the client. The output is a set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) tailored to the client's specific accounts, teams, and workflows, driving lasting behavioral change rather than short-lived post-launch enthusiasm. Learn more about change management here and effective SOPs here.
5. Client-Provider Trust
CPGvision builds client trust across three dimensions.
Security and Compliance. CPGvision is built on the Salesforce platform, so you get the security inherent with the platform, but we don’t rely on that alone. PSignite maintains compliance with key security standards including SOC 2 Type I and II, ISO 27001, and GDPR. You can read more about SOC2 certification and its ramifications in our article here. Our platform is designed to help you meet your own compliance requirements related to data protection and privacy regulations. In addition to internal security reviews, PSignite uses tools including Snyk to scan code for vulnerabilities, and Vanta to continuously monitor infrastructure, perform automated security tests, and verify compliance with security standards. At the organization level, administrators can create a complete list of approved users, set up password policies, restrict logins to particular times and IP addresses, and enable multi-factor authentication and single sign-on.
An Experienced Team. Every engagement is staffed by professionals with deep CPG and trade promotion domain expertise who understand deduction disputes at scale and can anticipate the organizational dynamics of a TPM rollout. There’s a lot of factors that go into a smooth implementation and our team has assembled a checklist for implementation that you can download here.
Referenceable Clients. CPGvision maintains a roster of referenceable clients across company sizes, categories, and go-to-market models who speak candidly about their experience. Low churn and high customer satisfaction are the proof. You can learn more about how our clients use our solution to solve their business problems in our case studies for Go Macro, Hershey and Panos.
Here at PSignite, we will never give up the steak for the sizzle. And you should also never give up the solid foundation for the fancy features.
